Class 2 had a lovely time visiting Tropical World at Leeds.
In the morning we walked around Tropical World and looked at the different animals and their habitats.
We looked at what an animal needs to survive in its habitat and the different habitats that animals could live in.
It was quite hard to spot some of the animals as they were camouflaged.
We really enjoyed seeing the Leaf Cutter Ants working, watching the bats hang upside down in their very dark environment and trying to spot the chameleon!
Our favourite animals of all were the cheeky Meerkats, who even posed in our class photograph!
After lunch we had a workshop in the woods.
We went leaf spotting and tried to identify all of the different trees around us.
We interviewed a tree and learnt how to measure how tall a tree was using our fingers and how to tell how old a tree was by measuring around the trunk.
Finally, we went on a bug hunt to see how many different insects and mini beasts we could find that lived in the woods.
