Update from Class R

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a lovely start to the school year we have had. Your children have transitioned into school life incredibly well and under such different circumstances too. We are so proud of them all!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you as parents for all of your efforts in helping your children to understand that things are a little different at the moment. They have made such a wonderful start to their Reception year and we have had the loveliest first days together getting to know them and each of their unique personalities. The children have really come together as a class so well and so quickly. Lots of our children have been the only ones to come from their previous setting, and lots of others haven’t been with their friends for such a long time, but you would not be able to tell now! They have all built new friendships and come together as a very kind and caring class, it has been a delight to watch their relationships develop.

We know as parents sending your babies off to big school is a very big thing, and the current pandemic has made that more of an anxious time than ever, but please be assured we will do all we can to make this year as happy and enjoyable as possible for your children, they are very precious to us too. Please remember that although we are unable to invite you into school at the moment, we are always here if you need us, please contact us at any time.

If you haven’t yet signed up to Tapestry please do, if you haven’t had your activation email please contact school with your email address and we will get you set up quickly to receive updates of your child’s progress in school. Could we also ask that you please name all of your children’s clothing to help us keep items with the correct owner each day.

We have had lots of fun learning our first few sounds and the children will very soon be bringing home their sound book to practise with you!

Thank you once again for your continued support and we look forward to working with you throughout the year. Well done Reception children, we are very proud of you and all you are doing at school!

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Heslop, Mrs Chadwick and Mrs Brooks
