Today, I have spoken with the engineer leading the upcoming road works on the High Street.
The work is to carry out repairs to specific areas along High Street, to level out any dips and to carry out some drainage repairs.
Although the order for works allows them to close the section of the road from the Memorial Hall to the railway bridge, they do not intend to close the whole road and will only close the section of road they are working on.
In the first week (W/B 10th May), they are planning to work on the area of road outside the village shop. This will mean that the Blacksmiths Arms will only be accessible from the north side of the village (Church Lane). So you can still use this as a parking venue but you must approach from Westfield Banks.
This will change when they move on to work outside Jefferson Close possibly in the second week.
I hope you find this information useful. If we receive any further information we will be back in touch.
