Class R have been busy growing butterflies! This week, we have watched our caterpillars transform as they moved home from their little tub into a large net where the Chrysalis’ are hung down.

The children were really excited to see the chrysalis wiggling and shaking as we transferred them!  We talked about the caterpillars changing over time, and how hey now have a hard shell protecting them as they transform into butterflies inside.  The children have made observations, drawings and writing about all of the changes so far.  They have been thinking carefully about the life cycle we are observing, ordering changes, developing language and are using this as a stimulus to develop a sequence of movements in our P.E sessions.
